With Gratitude – The Power of a Great Team

As a small business owner, I’ve learned that behind every calm, harmonious experience I create for others, there’s a team working just as harmoniously behind the scenes. Building Harmonious Healing has been one of the most meaningful journeys of my life—and I couldn’t do it alone.

Every sound bath, event, and post you see is the result of a collective effort from people who care deeply—not only about their work, but about me and the mission we share. Jeanne brings her thoughtful touch to my social media presence, capturing the essence of what I do and translating it into genuine connection. She often sends me videos of other practitioners for inspiration, and she’s even attended several of my virtual sound baths—once bringing her daughter to join the experience! Mary infuses my website and marketing with warmth, clarity, and design that truly reflects the heart of Harmonious Healing. Donna helps shape the wording on my website so it flows beautifully and feels natural—making sure that what you read feels like me. Tom ensures that everything behind the scenes runs smoothly, keeping the site fast, secure, and reliable. And Zac, through his photography, captures the energy and emotion of each moment, turning my work into imagery that truly speaks.

What makes this team so special isn’t just their skill—it’s their heart. They care about the mission of healing and mindfulness, and they care about me as a person, not just a client. They collaborate with one another on my projects, bringing their talents together seamlessly. What’s even more amazing is that I’ve never met my Harmonious Healing family in person—we’ve only connected through Zoom—but I feel like I know them. Our shared purpose and communication have created a bond that feels as real and meaningful as any in-person relationship.

Over the years, I’ve learned that who you choose to surround yourself with—in business or in life—matters deeply. It’s easy to make choices based solely on cost, but the real value lies in honesty, work ethic, communication, and mutual respect. When you find people who show up with integrity—who do what they say they’ll do, who genuinely want to see you succeed—it changes everything. A good team doesn’t just deliver results; they bring peace of mind, trust, and flow to your work.

I’ve seen this same truth come to life recently in a different setting—purchasing my first home. When I found out I needed to replace the bulkhead—an unexpected and costly project—I was fortunate to be connected with Pete, who then introduced me to Mike, the contractor overseeing the renovations. Like my business team, they work seamlessly together, communicate openly, and lead with honesty and care. Mike follows up on every detail, guiding me along the way, and always encourages me to call him when I’m out meeting with suppliers or making decisions. They aren’t looking to take advantage of the situation; they’re helping me make thoughtful, lasting choices. That kind of integrity is rare, and it makes all the difference.

In both business and home ownership, I’ve realized that having a great team doesn’t mean stepping aside—it means being all in. I use guidance and expertise, but ultimately, the responsibility to make decisions rests with me. Whether it’s designing new offerings for Harmonious Healing or choosing how to renovate a home, I have to stay fully engaged—listening, learning, and leading with vision. Building anything worthwhile requires creativity, curiosity, and courage.

Sometimes that means getting multiple estimates, asking more questions, or exploring new possibilities until things align. Other times, it means trusting your intuition when something simply feels right. The balance between teamwork and self-leadership is where growth really happens.

And this theme carries over into my work with clients as well. When I host group sound baths, I’m not just creating a space for relaxation—I’m building a community. I want every person who joins to feel the same sense of safety, trust, and connection that I experience with my own team. My goal is to hold space where people can come together, feel supported, and know that they are in caring, capable hands. Just as my team lifts me up, I hope to offer that same grounded energy and sense of belonging to everyone who comes to experience sound healing with me.

And now, as Thanksgiving approaches, I can’t help but reflect on the deep gratitude I feel for all of this. Gratitude has a transformative power of its own. Just as science shows that meditation can rewire the brain to create calm and focus, research also reveals that practicing gratitude can shift our mindset—reducing stress, improving relationships, and even enhancing overall well-being. Gratitude changes the way we see the world; it moves us from what’s missing to what’s already here.

This season, I’m thankful for the people who make Harmonious Healing possible, for the trust of my clients, and for the reminder that none of us are meant to do it all alone. Harmony, after all, isn’t something we find—it’s something we build, together.
